
Mountain Hawks head to Annapolis for two-day Navy Spring Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After finishing 12th out of 18 teams at the Lafayette Invitational two weekends ago, the Lehigh men's golf team will return to action for its last regular season tournament at the Navy Spring Invitational Friday and Saturday in Annapolis, Md.
The two-day, 36-hole tournament will be played on the par-71 Naval Academy Golf Club with 18-hole rounds set to begin at 8:30 a.m. both days.
The Mountain Hawks started strong at the Lafayette Invitational, but a tough final round dropped the team from seventh to 12th place. Lehigh finished the tournament 52 over par on the 36-hole event with scores of 308-312-620. Sophomore Harley Abrams once again led the way for the Mountain Hawks, finishing in eighth place after shooting a 74 both rounds to finish six over par at 148.
Junior Zach Allinson and junior Carlos Kim both tied for 32nd place with final scores of 155.
Eighteen teams will compete at the Navy Spring invitational this weekend, including four Patriot League opponents: Bucknell, Colgate, Lafayette and Navy. The host Midshipmen will have three teams in the field, a Gold, White and Blue. The remainder of the field consists of Cornell, Drexel, Delaware, Emory, LIU, Penn, Rhode Island, Saint Francis (Pa.), Saint Joseph's, Siena and Towson.
Last year, the Mountain Hawks finished 13th out of 21 teams. Kim was the team's top finisher at 40th place. Penn are the defending team champions.
Following the Navy Spring Invitational, the Mountain Hawks will battle Lafayette in stroke play on Tuesday before heading to West Point, N.Y. for the Patriot League Championship next weekend.
