BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's golf team opens its spring season Monday at the Wildcat Invitational, hosted by Villanova at White Manor Country Club in Malvern, Pa.  After closing its fall season on a high note finishing second in the Lehigh Invitational, the Mountain Hawks prepare to get back on the links Monday, for the start of the two-day, 54-hole tournament.

The Mountain Hawks had quite a spring in 2013, winning their first Patriot League Championship since 1997 and advancing to the NCAA Regionals for the first time in school history. Lehigh returns five members from its championship team, including first team All-Patriot League selections Alex DiClemente and Harley Abrams who finished in the top five at last year's league championship.

Also returning for Lehigh is junior Carlos Kim, a second team All-Patriot League performer, plus junior Zach Allinson, sophomore Jonathan Heydt and newcomers David Olexson and Brendan Worthy.

The Mountain Hawks enjoyed a strong fall season, finishing third out of 14 teams at the Colgate Invitational, fifth of 17 at Rutgers and third of ten at Army before defeating rival Lafayette in match play to reclaim the President's Cup.

April will be a busy month for the Mountain Hawks. Following the Wildcat Invitational, Lehigh will compete in the Lafayette Invitational (April 6-7) and the Navy Spring Invitational (April 19-20), plus the Mountain Hawks will battle Lafayette in stroke play on April 22. Army will host the Patriot League Championship April 26-27 at the West Point Golf Course.

For the Wildcat Invitational, 16 teams and 10 individual competitors will hit the links on Monday at Manor Country Club.  The first 36 holes will take place on Monday, with the final 18 concluding the tournament on Tuesday.  Round one tee times are set for 8 a.m. Monday with the second round set for 12:45 p.m. The final round Tuesday will begin at 8 a.m.
