BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh women's basketball team couldn't hold on to a 17-point halftime lead as third-place Army outscored the Mountain Hawks 48-22 in the second half to claim a road win Monday night at Stabler Arena. Lehigh shot a blistering 65.4 percent in the first half, but Army answered with a 7-for-12 showing from beyond the arc in the second half to claim its 20th win of the season.
"It was a tale of two halves," said head coach Sue Troyan. "The first half may have been the best half of basketball that we've played all season. We allowed them to do what they wanted to do on both ends of the floor in the second half."
Army improved to 20-7 overall and 12-4 in the league with the win, while the Mountain Hawks fell to 12-15 overall and 5-11 in the Patriot League.
Sophomore Kerry Kinek led the Mountain Hawks with 18 points and five rebounds. Junior Sarah Williams chipped in 15 on a 4-for-4 effort from downtown, while freshman Kiernan McCloskey tallied a career-high 12 points after shooting 4-for-4 from floor with a three-pointer added in.
Army's Kelsey Minato scored a game-high 31 points while dishing six assists. Jen Hazlett (13) and Jean Parker (12) also scored in double digits for the Black Knights.

The Black Knights got out to an early 8-2 lead, but a jumper from freshman Kayla Burton sparked a 10-0 Lehigh run that was capped off with a pair of three-pointers from Williams as Lehigh grabbed a 12-8 lead with 15:01 to play.
Army hung around to go basket-for-basket with Lehigh over the next seven minutes as the Mountain Hawks clung to a 20-19 lead with 8:17 on the clock. Williams sank back-to-back three pointers to start Lehigh on a 12-0 run that featured five points from Kinek and free throws from Williams and O'Reilly as Lehigh jutted out to a 32-19 lead with 5:19 left in the opening half.
A Kelsey Minato three-pointer broke the streak, but another string of eight unanswered Lehigh points followed with the help of five points from McCloskey and three from senior Lindsay Hoskins. Army opened the second half on a 14-5 lead with the help of 13 points from Minato as Lehigh's lead was trimmed to 52-46 with 15:55 left to play. A free throw from Army's Parker tied the game at 59 with 10:42 on the clock before Parker followed with a three-pointer and the Black Knights took the lead for good.
