BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Following a competitive weekend in New England last weekend, the Lehigh field hockey team will hit the field for the first time in a week when the Mountain Hawks travel to Lock Haven on Sunday. Gametime is set for 1 p.m. Lehigh is eying its second straight win over the Bald Eagles after a 2-1 victory last season.

The Mountain Hawks are coming off a pair of tight games last weekend. On Saturday, Lehigh fell to Boston University 1-0 in a defensive game that came down to the wire. Then on Sunday, the squad used a strong first half to take a 1-1 tie into halftime, but Brown proved too much in the second half as the Bears went on to the 4-2 victory. Sophomore Amanda Granger and freshman Jackie Renda each scored on Sunday.

Sophomore Gabby Tofig continues to lead the team and is third in the lead with 14 points (seven goals). Junior Lindsey Schott has 11 (four goals, three assists) and Granger is up to seven points (three goals, one assist). Senior Steph Fratoni and junior Kat Kneizys lead the team with three defensive saves apiece. Sophomore goalie Julia Ward owns a 3.12 goals against average and .700 save percentage.

Lock Haven is 8-5 heading into a Friday afternoon home game against Saint Joseph's. Out of the Atlantic 10, the Bald Eagles are 3-1 in conference play. They own a 6-2 win over Colgate, but fell to another common opponent Sacred Heart, a team the Mountain Hawks defeated one day later. Nakira Downes leads the team in scoring with 18 points (six goals, six assists). Lydia George is next with 14 points (six goals, two assists) while Rachel Valentine has 11 (five goals, one assist) and Taylor Kennedy 10 (five goals). Stephanie Whiteman leads the team in defensive saves (two) while adding two goals and two assists. Elaina White has started all 13 games and owns a 1.70 GAA and .691 save percentage.

The Mountain Hawks are 1-5 all-time against Lock Haven with the sole win coming last season. After the Bald Eagles took a 1-0 lead, Caitlyn Mitchell tied the score and Zoey Pacheco tallied the game-winner in the final five minutes.

After Sunday's game, Lehigh will travel to archrival Lafayette next Saturday (Oct. 25) to face the Leopards.
