Mountain Hawks wrap up Princeton Open

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Lehigh men's swimming and diving team wrapped up its two-day competition at the unscored Princeton Open at DeNunzio Pool on Saturday. The Mountain Hawks took on host Princeton and Fordham in multiple events.
 
The Mountain Hawk team of sophomore Matt Carducci, freshman Kevin Huntley, senior Chris Hoke and freshman Justin White swam their way to a fourth place finish in the 200 yard Medley Relay to begin the day with an impressive time of 1:36.59.
 
The Mountain Hawks took fourth in the 800 free relay with a time of 7:05.05. Lehigh was represented by junior Danny Bennett, freshman Jacob Moyar, junior Owen Dunbar and freshman Justin White.
 
The Mountain Hawk team of White, Kendig, senior Matt Chrzanowski and Hoke wrapped up the competition with a fifth place finish in the 400 free relay thanks to a time of 3:13.74.
 
Moyar led the Mountain Hawks in the 400 Individual Medley with a time of 4:05.96 to finish fifth.  Bennett finished ninth (4:08.84), followed by junior Jake Greene in tenth (4:09.42).
 
Hoke was Lehigh's top finisher in the 100 fly coming in ninth place with a time of 52.85.Carducci followed in eleventh place with a 52:28 mark.
 
The Mountain Hawks placed four swimmers in the top eight of the 200 freestyle, led by junior Eric Sherwood in fifth place with a time of 1:45.58. Chrzanowski (1:46.17), White (1:46.27) and Dunbar (1:46.63) placed sixth through eighth, respectively.
 
Huntley took home seventh place in the 100 breast with a mark of 1:01.18.
 
Two Lehigh swimmers placed in the top six of the 100 back, paced by junior Martin Kendig in fifth place with a 54.48 mark. Carducci followed right behind in sixth place (54.67).
 
Moyar was back at it in the 1650 free and grabbed a fourth place finish with a time of 16:15.26.
 
Junior Sean Brant finished seventh in the 200 back with a mark of 1:56.51. Chrzanowski paced the Mountain Hawks in the 100 free with a tenth place finish and a 48.21 mark.
 
Three Mountain Hawks placed within the top ten of the 200 breast, led by Huntley who recorded a 2:14.04 mark to claim sixth place. Junior Michael Wheaton (2:18.15) took ninth, while Hoke (2:19.25) took tenth.
 
Another three Lehigh swimmers placed within the top ten of the 200 fly as Moyar claimed fourth (1:53.13) sophomore Jake Hassel finished sixth (1:56.51) and freshman Justin Kostelnik (1:58.57) ninth.
 
 
Lehigh returns to action when it hosts foe Lafayette in Jacobs Pool on Friday at 3 p.m.
