Lehigh heads to Boston in search of first Patriot League win

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Lehigh men's soccer team will travel to Patriot League newcomer Boston University for a 2 p.m. Saturday match. Both squads will be searching for their first Patriot League victory.
Lehigh is coming off a 1-0 defeat to rival Lafayette on Wednesday night. The Mountain Hawks tallied 10 shots and played an impressive defensive game, but a penalty kick goal from the Leopards in the 35th minute gave Lafayette the victory.
Scoreless in their last four games, the Mountain Hawks will look to get their attack going against a Terrier team that has given up seven goals in its last three matches. Senior James Meyerkord and junior Brian Suchoski lead the team with 19 and 13 shots, respectively, and will look to put one in the net on Saturday.
Freshman goalkeeper Jacob Gottwald has started the last three games and will have an opportunity to improve his .625 save percentage. Senior Ben Wysocki and freshman Danny Gonzalez lead the team in points this season, Wysocki with three and Gonzalez with two.
Boston University is coming off a 1-0 loss to Holy Cross on Wednesday and, like the Mountain Hawks, has dropped its last four matches. Four Terriers have tallied two goals apiece, while Dominique Badji leads the team with 30 shots.
This will be just the second ever meeting between the schools. The Terriers prevailed 4-1 in the only other matchup back in 2001.
Following the trip to Boston, Lehigh will head to Philadelphia to face non-league foe Villanova on Tuesday, Oct. 15. The Mountain Hawks will then return home to resume league play against Loyola on Saturday, Oct. 19.
