Arnold finishes fourth, Lehigh takes sixth at Lafayette Invitational

NORTHAMPTON, Pa. – After shooting a final round team score of 306, the Lehigh men's golf team finished sixth at the Lafayette Invitational, which wrapped-up Monday at Northampton Country Club. Senior Tim Rosenhouse and sophomore Alex DiClemente tied for 12th overall to lead the Mountain Hawks five scoring players, as Lehigh finished with a team score of 615 (309-306).
The story of the day for the Brown and White was the performance of sophomore Andrew Arnold, who competed as an individual. Arnold shot a final round 69 to finish at 147 (78-69), three shots behind the leaders. Lafayette's Carter Rufe beat Jeremy Foran of Saint Francis (Pa.) in a playoff to capture medalist honors.
Among Lehigh's official scoring players, Rosenhouse fired the best round Monday, carding a 75 to finish at 153 (78-75). DiClemente reached the same score of 153 with a 77-76.
The three other Mountain Hawks who scored all tied for 26th place at 156 as senior Doug Marcincin shot 78-78 over the two days, freshman Carlos Kim shot 79-77 and junior Sean Keller shot 76-80.
Freshman Zach Allinson also competed as an individual, bouncing back from an 86 on Sunday to shoot 76 Monday and tie for 58th at 162.
Hofstra captured the team title, shooting 600 (291-309) to edge host Lafayette by six strokes (307-299-606). Fairleigh Dickinson and Iona took third and fourth respectively. Lehigh finished just two shots behind fifth place Saint Francis (Pa.) and four ahead of seventh place Siena.
The Mountain Hawks will return to action at the Navy Invitational, Saturday and Sunday in Annapolis, Md.
