ALEXANDRIA, Va. – In its first match away from the Lewis Tennis Center in six weeks, Lehigh dropped a 4-2 decision to Georgetown Saturday at Bellehaven Country Club. The Mountain Hawks won the doubles point and got a win from freshman Mitchell Petersen at No. 3 singles, but four Hoya single wins sent the Mountain Hawks (6-4) to their third straight setback.
The other change Shook involved a flip-flop of the singles positions of Gilman and Petersen. Gilman entered the day having won eight straight singles matches and was elevated to the No. 2 singles spot, bud did not finish his match with Caris. Petersen was bumped to No. 3 and won convincingly over Shane Korber 6-2, 6-1, but it was the last win of the day for the Mountain Hawks. Georgetown picked up wins at No. 1 and No. 4 singles and then added wins at the bottom two singles flights after taking the first set in both via tiebreaks.
The Mountain Hawks will return to the court on Saturday March 17 when they host St. Francis (N.Y.) at 1 p.m. inside the Lewis Tennis Center.
