UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – In its final meet before the Patriot League Championships later this month, the Lehigh men's swimming and diving team fell to a tough Penn State squad Saturday at McCoy Natatorium. The Mountain Hawks rested a lot of their top swimmers while other members of the Brown and White competed in the meet, bidding for a chance to compete at the league championship meet at Navy in two weeks.
Penn State clinched the meet early by winning the first 11 of 15 events on the afternoon, on the way to a 168-101 final score.
Freshman Christoph Schillig led Lehigh in the sprints, clocking in at 21.93 seconds in the 50 free and 48.20 in the 100 free.
Senior Jared Blacker placed third in the 100 breast with a time of 59.55, while freshman Henry Cohen paced the Mountain Hawks in the backstroke events.
The Mountain Hawks will now shift their focus to the Patriot League Championships, February 16-18 at Navy's Lejeune Hall in Annapolis, Md.
