BETHLEHEM, Pa. – After posting its sixth straight victory to open the season, the Lehigh football team saw two student-athletes garner Patriot League weekly awards Monday. Senior quarterback Mike Colvin was named Offensive Player of the Week, while freshman linebacker Noah Robb was recognized as Rookie of the Week.

Colvin earns Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in his career after having a hand in all five touchdowns in Lehigh's 35-14 win over Columbia Saturday at Goodman Stadium. He completed a career-high 29 passes (in 38 attempts) for 296 yards and a career-high four touchdowns, and also ran 12 times for 38 yards and a touchdown.

The New Jersey native started the game strong, completing 9-of-9 passes for 84 yards and two touchdowns in the first quarter as Lehigh built an early 14-0 advantage. Colvin's 29 completions were spread over six different receivers, with junior wide receiver Sergio Fernandez-Soto hauling in eight for 120 yards and senior tight end Jamel Haggins catching five for 84 yards and two scores. Haggins received an honorable mention from the league for his efforts as well.

For the season, Colvin has completed 62.3 percent of his passes for 1,578 yards. He has thrown eight touchdown passes compared to six interceptions. Colvin is also averaging a team-best 5.1 yards per carry and has rushed for 300 yards and six touchdowns. He has rushed for a touchdown in three consecutive games and has rushed for at least one score in five of Lehigh's first six games this season.
Robb earns his first Rookie of the Week nod and the second for the Mountain Hawks this season, making the most of his varsity debut. Helping fill in for injured junior John Mahoney at weakside outside linebacker, Robb finished with two tackles and a quarterback hurry and came up big on Columbia's third drive of the third quarter. On second-and-two from the Columbia 33, Robb stuffed Marcorus Garrett for no gain. Four plays later he teamed with junior Ryan Kuntz to stop Garrett for no gain. His quarterback pressure forced an incompletion on third down which led to a Lion punt.

The Lehigh Valley native and Allentown Central Catholic product teamed with sophomore Isaiah Campbell to register eight tackles and a sack from the weakside linebacker position in Mahoney's place. Robb also featured on three special teams units for the Mountain Hawks, who won their FCS-best 15th consecutive regular season game.

Lehigh is now ranked tenth in both major FCS Polls released Monday. The Mountain Hawks moved up one spot in the Sports Network FCS Top 25 and held steady at No. 10 in the FCS Coaches Poll.

The Mountain Hawks will return to the gridiron this Saturday when they travel to Washington, D.C. to battle the Georgetown Hoyas. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. from Multi-Sport Field. The game will not be televised, but audio will be available on ESPN Radio 1230 and 1320 as well as online at Lehighsports.com.
