SOUTH KENT, Conn. – Lehigh's play improved over the final 36 holes, but an opening round 315 was too much to overcome as the Mountain Hawks finished 15th in the 17-team Hartford Hawk invitational, which wrapped-up Tuesday at Bulls Bridge Golf Club. The Mountain Hawks finished with a team score of 929 (315, 304, 310), and were just ten strokes away from a top-ten team finish.

Sophomore Alex DiClemente led the way for the Mountain Hawks individually, finishing in a tie for 46th at 230 (80, 77, 73). DiClemente's final round 73 was the lowest for Lehigh in the two-day event. Freshman Zach Allinson was Lehigh's No. 2 finisher, tying for 56th with a 233 (77, 76, 80). Junior Sean Keller had the second lowest round of the day for Lehigh, carding a 74 in the final round en route to a 235 (83, 78, 74) and a tie for 61st place. Sophomore Andrew Arnold provided the low score in round two for Lehigh with a 75, and finished in a tie for 68th at 237 (78, 75, 84), while senior Tim Rosenhouse rounded out the group of Mountain Hawks that competed, shooting a 239 (80, 76, 83) and tying for 72nd place.

The University of Connecticut placed four players in the top 20 en route to the team title with a score of 868 (294, 286, 288), eight shots better than runner-up Loyola (Md.) and nine better than St. John's, who finished third.

Individually, there was a four-way playoff for medalist honors, with UConn's Jeb Buchanan (74-70-69-213) defeating Jay Mulieri of Loyola on the fourth playoff hole.
The Mountain Hawks will return to the links at the Seton Hall Invitational, October 15-16 in Bedminster, N.J.
