Women's Golf takes ninth at Yale Fall Invitational

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Lehigh wrapped up action at its second fall event as the Mountain Hawks finished ninth in the 16-team Yale Fall Invitational which wrapped up Sunday at the Course at Yale. The Mountain Hawks placed two players in the top 20 overall as junior Chelsea Michalek placed ninth and sophomore Crystal Lee finished 18th.
 
Michalek followed up and opening round 81 with the two lowest rounds of the weekend for the Mountain Hawks, posting a 72 in Saturday's second round and a 73 in Sunday's final round to finish at 226. Lee took 18th place with a score of 232 (78, 75, 79).
 
Other Mountain Hawks who competed were junior Ginette Schapira, who tied for 36th at 238 (77, 79, 82); freshman Kelly Moylan who finished 62nd at 251 (80, 87, 84) and freshman Alyssa Scheyd, who finished in 73rd place with a score of 261 (85, 87, 89).
 
As a team Lehigh fell from sixth after Saturday to ninth overall with a score of 947 (316, 313, 318). Harvard captured the team title with a score of 894 (292, 296, 306), 16 shots better than second place Longwood.
 
Individually, Yale's Seo Hee Moon defeated Harvard's Tiffany Lim in a playoff to earn medalist honors with a 218, three shots ahead of third place finisher Ariel Witmer of Longwood.
The Mountain Hawks fall slate continues next weekend at the Princeton Invitational, Saturday and Sunday in New Jersey.
