Mountain Hawks finish 11th at Navy Invitational

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Lehigh finished up action at the Navy Invitational by shooting a final round 309 Sunday on the Naval Academy Golf Course. After Saturday's round was played in monsoon-like conditions, Sunday's final round was played in much better weather. Lehigh improved its score by five strokes but fell to 11th place in the 20 team field with a final score of 623 (314, 309).
 
Sophomore Sean Keller led the way for Lehigh, shooting a final round 72 to move into a tie for 22nd place at 154 (82, 72).
 
Others who competed for the Mountain Hawks were junior Tim Rosenhouse, who tied for 29th at 155 (76, 79), senior Duncan Zeiders, who shot 158 (81, 77) to tie for 42nd; and junior Doug Marcincin (78, 82) and freshman Alex DiClemente (79, 81) who tied for 55th at 160.
 
TCU shot even par 284 on Sunday to win the team title at 586 (302, 284), eleven shots better than Columbia, while Lafayette finished third at 610. Lehigh finished in 11th place, one stroke behind Iona and seven ahead of Saint Francis (Pa.)
 
Navy's Ben Hayes repeated with medalist honors, beating Clark Granum of Columbia and Scott Roudebush of TCU by one stroke.
 
Lehigh will host the one-day Lehigh Valley Collegiate Thursday at Saucon Valley Country Club before returning to Annapolis for next weekend's Patriot League Championship.
