Lee paces Mountain Hawks at Lehigh Invitational

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – In its final event of the fall season, the Lehigh women's golf team wrapped up action at the Lehigh Invitational Sunday on the Grace Course at Saucon Valley Country Club. Sophomore Crystal Lee shot a ten over par 154 (79-75) to lead the way for the Mountain Hawks, tying for seventh place overall. Lehigh's A team finished fourth in the eight-team field, while the Mountain Hawks' B team finished seventh.
 
The Mountain Hawks' top team finished with a score of 642 (322-320). Junior Chelsea Michalek was Lehigh's second highest finisher, tying for 13th at 160 (79-81). One spot behind Michalek was junior Ginette Schapira who shot 161 (79-82) to place 16th. Freshmen Melanie Dickens and Kelly Moylan also played on the A team, with Dickens tied for 26th at 167 (85-82), while Moylan shot 173 (85-88) and tied for 33rd place.
 
Sophomore Hannah Kim paced Lehigh's B team tying for 23rd at 166 (82-84). Classmate Elle Sander finished 31st at 169 (84-85). Also competing for the Mountain Hawks were freshman Alyssa Scheyd, who finished 36th at 179 (90-89) and junior Natalie Lansing who placed 37th at 181 (88-93). The B team shot 695 (344-351).
 
Brown University captured the women's team title at 607 (309-298), four strokes better than Seton Hall. Rutgers finished third followed by the Mountain Hawks and then Fairleigh Dickinson.
 
Individually, Brown's Stephanie Hsieh birdied the 18th-hole to defeat Hannah Basalone of Seton Hall in a playoff to capture medalist honors. Both players shot 147 (73-74). Michelle Chen of Brown and Alison Kruse of Seton Hall tied for third, three shots off the pace.
The Mountain Hawks' spring campaign will begin in March.
