Track completes successful weekend at Mountain Hawk Multi and Invite

BETHLEHEM, PA.– In its fourth event of the season, the Lehigh track and field teams enjoyed a solid weekend of as the Mountain Hawk Multi and Invite. The Mountain Hawks came out with impressive times as they look forward to the Lafayette Dual next weekend.
Lehigh was joined at the meet by Bloomsburg, Elizabethtown, Lock Haven, Muhlenburg and Richard Stockton. On the women's side, the Mountain hawks had plenty of top three finishes, including first place in six of them. Lehigh captured victories in the 4x400 and the 4x800 meter relay. In the 4x400 relay, Kristin Slotnick, Khaaleedah Smith, Elizabeth McManus and Alexandra Doersman posted a time of 4:12.14 to earn a first place finish. In the 4x800 meter relay, Lauren Petrosh, Kathleen Ryan, Jessica Kandzor and Katherine Powley put up a 9:44.01 mark to finish in first as well.

In the 400 meter dash, Smith took first place as she finished with a time of 1:01.45. Doersam finished in second behind Smith in that event. Over in the 500 meter dash, McManus took a first place while Ryan finished second behind her. The Mountain Hawks had a one-two-three finish in the 800 meter run, as Jessica Kendzor finished first, followed by Brittany Pietrosh and Alexandra Neville. Slotnick took first place in the 200 meter dash the 60 meter dash final.
In the field events, Alex Doersam finished third in the long jump with a distance of 5.51 meters. Kathryn Baglio finished third in the shot put, posting a distance of 11.77 meters. Over in the weight throw, sophomore E'Lana Lemon placed third with a distance of 16.12 meters.
On the men's side senior Niall Buckley posted a first place finish in the 500 meter dash, posting a time of 1:07.12. He edged his teammate John Ciaverdelli, as he finished second with a time of 107.94.
Evan Flach took second in the 800 meter dash, scoring a time of 2:00. 18. In the 200 meter dash, Martin Otieno had a second place finish, turning in a time of 23.11 seconds. David Robinson came in at third with a time of 23.21 seconds.
In the field events, Patrick Ciez posted a 2.04 meter leap in the high jump which was good for a first place finish. Richard Somiari also took first place laurels in the triple jump, finishing with a 14.13 meter mark. Lehigh also won the shot put as Christopher Buck had a 15.22 meter throw.
The Mountain Hawks will host will host its final two indoor meets, the Lafayette Dual on Jan. 29 and the Covert Classic, on February 5.
