Mountain Hawks finish up play in Connecticut

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – Led by sophomore Chelsea Michalek's finish in a tie for 19th place, the Lehigh women's golf team finished tenth out of 14 teams at the Yale Fall Collegiate, which wrapped up Sunday at the Yale University Golf Club. Michalek fired a final round 77 to finish with a total score of 230 (79, 74, 77). Her second round 74 was the low round for a Mountain Hawks on the weekend.
Host Yale cruised to the team title, finishing with an 886 (296, 293, 297), 13 shots better than second place Penn (294, 301, 304 – 899). Boston College finished third at 907. Lehigh finished tenth with a 958 (321, 316, 321), one shot ahead of Hartford.
Other Mountain Hawks who competed were sophomore Ginette Schapira, who placed 42nd with a 239 (80, 77, 82); senior Emily Endres, who tied for 46th at 241 (79, 83, 79) and freshman Hannah Kim and junior Taylor Orr who tied for 62nd at 251.
Yale's Seo Hee Moon shot a final round five-under-par 67 to earn medalist honors with a final score of six-under-par 210. Moon finished three shots ahead of Penn's Isabel Han and seven ahead of third place finisher Harin Lee from St. John's.
Lehigh returns to the links next weekend at the Nittany Lion Invitational in University Park, Pa.
