Lehigh improves standing on final day in Va.

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Lehigh shot a 322 on Sunday in the final round of the C&F Bank Invite as the Mountain Hawks improved their standing by five spots to finish 12th in the tournament with an overall score of 666 (344, 322).  Lehigh, which stood in 17th after one day of competition, was led by freshman Ginette Schapira who shot a 161 (82, 79) to tie for 26th individually.  William & Mary won the team title with a 612 (308, 304) and the Tribe was followed by Akron (316, 303 = 619), Longwood (308, 313 = 621), St. John’s (307, 318 = 625) and Boston College (311, 318 = 629).

 

Other Mountain Hawks who competed this weekend were Chelsea Michalek who shot a 165 (85, 80) and tied for 47th place, Livia Amado who tied for 63rd after shooting a 170 (80, 90) Rosie Davies who shot a 171 (87, 84) and Emily Endres who shot a 173 (90, 83).

Kameron Carter of Longwood shot a 146 (73, 73) to claim top individual honors, with Samantha Morrell of Old Dominion and Megan Leineweber of Radford placing second with identical scores of 147.


Lehigh returns to action on March 29 when the Mountain Hawks travel to Beallsville, Maryland to take part in the two-day Hoya Invitational.
