Poole honored with spot on All-Patriot League first team

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Lehigh sophomore middle blocker Taylor Poole has been named to the All-Patriot League volleyball first team, it was announced on Tuesday. One of the most reliable attack threats in Lehigh's offense, Poole ranked second in the Patriot League with a .328 hitting percentage and ranked ninth in the league in kills averaging 2.44 per set.
The Keller, Texas native continued to improve as the year progressed, as evidenced by her statistics in league matches. Poole led Lehigh with 143 kills in league play and hit a team-best .348. She also added 14 service aces and 36 total blocks.
Poole picked up a season-high 14 kills on three occasions, most recently Lehigh's season-ending win over Navy on Saturday. She also had double-digit kills and a hitting percentage over .600 on two occasions, September 4 against Dartmouth and November 12 versus American. Poole served six aces in a win over Lafayette on October 7 and recorded six total blocks on two occasions.
Also on Tuesday the league announced its major award winners. The top two teams in the league standings, American and Army won all five awards. The Black Knights picked up the Setter of the Year Award (Karyn Powell), Defensive Player of the Year (Brittany Jensen) and Rookie of the Year (Megan Wilton), while the Eagles' Magdalena Tekiel was named Player of the Year and Barry Goldberg was named Coach of the Year.
Lehigh finished the season at 13-13 overall and 7-7 in the league to post the program's first .500 season since 2003.
