Marcincin places third, Lehigh concludes action

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Lehigh finished up play at the 2009 Bucknell Fall Invite on Saturday as the Mountain Hawks finished ninth in the 14-team tournament. The Brown and White shot an 898 (302, 293, 303) to finish in front of Ottawa, while the host Bison took home the team crown with a score of 865 (291, 276, 298). Following Bucknell in the team standings were Canisius (284, 292, 296 = 872), Robert Morris (292, 285, 302 = 879), Bucknell Blue (304, 287, 295 = 886) and Laval (293, 297, 302 = 886). Sophomore Doug Marcincin had a great showing for Lehigh over the weekend as he tied for third place with a score of 215 (73, 69, 73). Marcincin’s second round score of 69 was the lowest of all the Lehigh competitors.
Other Lehigh competitors in Lewisburg were Tim Rosenhouse (76, 72, 76 = 224) who tied for 23rd place, Dwight D’Iorio who shot a 232 (80, 73, 79) and tied for 48th place, Sean Keller who tied for 50th place with a 233 (78, 79, 76), and Steve Suarez who tied for 54th place after shooting a 234 (75, 81, 78).
In the individual standings Andrew Cohen of Bucknell was the medalist with a 210 (70, 68, 72), while teammate Ben Mattingly shot a 211 (72, 68, 71) to place second.
Lehigh will return to the links on September 26 when the Mountain Hawks head to Ithaca, New York to compete at the Cornell Invitational.
