McClimon named Rookie of the Week

BETHLEHEM, Pa.- The Patriot League announced its weekly awards Tuesday, and Mountain Hawks freshman Dan McClimon was honored as the male Rookie of the Week. This is the second Rookie of the Week award McClimon has earned this season and he has now been recognized by the Patriot League in all four weeks of competition.

The Pottstown, Pa. native finished 69th overall at the Paul Short Run last weekend. His time of 25:36 was tops among Lehigh runners and second best among Patriot League runners. This marked the fourth consecutive race that McClimon has finished in top spot for the Brown and White.

McClimon received the Rookie of the Week award in the first week of competition, for his first place finish at the Muhlenberg Short Course Meet. He received an honorable mention the last two weeks, for a second place finish at the Lehigh Valley Championship and a first place finish at the Lehigh-Lafayette Dual.

The men’s and women’s teams are back in action in two weeks, when they travel to University Park on October 12, for the Penn State National Invite. The race is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. from the Penn State campus.
