BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Senior Andrea Luebbe was named the Patriot League Runner of the Week on Tuesday after her performance in the prestigious Iona Meet of Champions this past weekend. Luebbe finished in 22nd place, the top performance of any Mountain Hawk, defeating runners from national powers such as Princeton and La Salle, and regionally ranked squads like Cornell, Dartmouth and Harvard. The Montana native helped lead the Brown and White to a ninth place finish out of 23 teams, as Lehigh finished ahead of Patriot League power Army, as well as Big-12 member Texas.
Luebbe has led the Mountain Hawks in each of their past two races, including the overall title in the annual Lehigh – Lafayette dual meet on September 17. It was the second time in three years she has won that race. Luebbe also placed third overall at the season opening Lehigh Valley Championships on September 2.
Luebbe and Lehigh return to action on Saturday when the Mountain Hawks host the annual Paul Short Run. The 32nd edition gets underway at 10:00 AM from the Goodman Course.
