Mountain Hawks set to renew rivalry with Lafayette

Utesch concluded, “On the women’s side, we’ll look to Andrea Luebbe and Sarah Seiler to lead us, as well as watch for some of our freshman and sophomores to develop and play a key role. While on the men’s side, we have a good front pack of Rob Hampson, Victor Vientos, Sean Swift and Brendan Glover. Anyone could be in the lead for us in that race.”
In last year’s races, Jen Schappert won the women’s title, crossing in a time of 23:04.8, while on the men’s side, Sean Swift was the overall winner, finishing in a time o 26:30.1. Swift was followed by teammates Victor Vientos, Sam Kirk, Mark Swanson, Brendan Glover, Alex Hudgins, and Rob Hampson.
Saturday’s men’s race is slated to begin at 9:30 AM, while the women will get underway at 10:15 AM. Complete results will be available on lehighsports.com.
In other cross country news, the Mountain Hawk men debuted at No. 10 in the Mid-Atlantic Region after the season’s first poll came out earlier this week. American and Navy are the only Patriot League schools ahead of Lehigh, while Bucknell comes in at No. 14. Last season, the Mountain Hawks finished the season ranked No. 10 and peaked all the way up to ninth in early October.
