Swanson captures League honors

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh junior cross country runner Mark Swanson has been named the Patriot League Runner of the Week, after coming in first place at the Lehigh Valley Championships on September 5, at the Goodman Campus. Swanson crossed the finish line in a time of 26:19.5 and led a Mountain Hawk sweep of the first six spots en route to the victory. It is the second time in Swanson’s career that he has received this honor. Swanson, who also won the 3,000-meters at the 2002 indoor Championship, improved on his second-place finish at the Lehigh Valley Championships in 2002. Joining Lehigh at the meet were Lafayette, DeSales, Kutztown, East Stroudsburg, Muhlenberg and Moravian. Lehigh will return to action on September 19, when the Mountain Hawks travel to Holmdel, NJ, to compete in the Monmouth Invitational.
