Lehigh set to tangle with Army in home and league opener

Offensively, Schwendenmann leads the Mountain Hawks with 100 kills. Spafford is second on the team with 64 kills and senior Morgan Volkart is third with 42. Junior Cassidy Maumus leads the Lehigh defense with 132 kills, while Spafford and Volkart are 1-2 in blocks with 16 and 13 respectively. Army comes into to tonight’s match at 6-2. The Black Knights boast the Patriot League’s top winning percentage heading into league play. Freshman Elizabeth Lazzari leads the Black Knights in kills and is second on the team in digs, while senior setter Abby Casciato recently became Army’s all-time leader in service aces. The Black Knights won both matches against the Mountain Hawks a year ago. Friday night’s match gets underway at 7:00 from Grace Hall. Lehigh will then wrap-up the opening weekend of Patriot League play at home against Holy Cross on Saturday.
