Jack wins freshman honor for second time

Bethlehem, PA- For the second time this season, freshman setter Allison Jack has been named Patriot League Freshman of the Week. She also won the honor the week of September 7.

Coach Patrick Nicholas is thrilled for Jack. “She has been improving every week,” he said. “To see where she has gotten to from where she was at the beginning of the season, it’s amazing. She is so focused and determined. The more she keeps improving, the better the team will get as well.”

Jack averaged 12.1 assists in two matches this week, as Lehigh went 1-1 against American and Navy. In the 3-1 loss to American, Jack led the Mountain Hawks in assists (46), digs (11), and service aces (2). Then, in a 3-0 victory over the Midshipmen, Allison had 39 assists in just three games. She continues to lead the Patriot League in assists with an average of 10.71 per game. She is the only setter in the league averaging double figures.

The Mountain Hawks will have this week off as the students complete midterm exams, and pick back up Patriot League play this weekend as they travel to Bucknell Friday night and Colgate Saturday night. Both matches will be broadcast live on Lehigh’s website at www.lehigh.edu. Game time for each is set at 7:00.
