Lehigh raids Colgate 3-2

Hamilton, NY – Lehigh upended Colgate 3-2 Thursday evening, improving its record to 16-9 overall, 7-1 in league play. With the loss Colgate falls to 2-19 overall, 1-7 in league play.
Senior Rochelle Healea who posted 19 kills and five digs paced the Mountain Hawks. Jeannette Singleton notched 16 kills and six digs, while freshman Rebecca Gawronski managed seven kills, three solo-blocks, and two block-assists. Lisa Furusawa tallied 48 assists and two block-assists en route to the win.
For Colgate, Melissa Rawson managed 16 kills and one block-assist, while teammate Caity Whiteaker managed 10 kills.
"Colgate played hard tonight," said head coach Patrick Nicholas. "It took until the fourth game before the we finally realized what we needed to do. I am proud of how the team performed and we showed ourselves that if we have to go five we can hang in there."
Lehigh will face off against league foe Bucknell on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. The match can be heard live on the Lehigh website at www.lehigh.edu.
