Lehigh rebounds to drop Army

West Point, NY - Lehigh picked up its fifth consecutive win Friday, defeating Army 3-1. With the win Lehigh improves to 11-8 on the season, 3-0 in league play while Army falls to 4-12 on the season, 0-3 in league play. Lehigh won game one 30-21, dropped game two 30-24, and rebounded to win games three and four 30-22 and 30-16.
Rochelle Healea notched 13 kills and 20 digs to lead the Mountain Hawks. Patriot League Rookie of the Week Morgan Volkart added 12 kills, four digs, four aces, and six blocks. Volkart also tallied an amazing .571 attacking percentage. Lisa Furusawa led the squad with 33 assists while Jill Kober added 12 digs.
"We started slow but bounced back to pick up the win on game one," said head coach Patrick Nicholas. "In game two, we didn’t do much right," added Nicholas. "If we have any hope to compete for a championship we have to get a lot tougher," noted Nicholas. "Erin (Breithaupt) did a great job distributing the ball in games three and four and also brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the floor. That helped us pull out the win."
Lehigh returns to action tomorrow vs. league foe Holy Cross. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
