Kopacz honored for second week in a row

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Angelika Kopacz was named the Patriot League’s Rookie of the Week on Monday for the second consecutive week. Kopacz has led the Mountain Hawks in kills in all six matches of her collegiate career.

Kopacz totaled 25 kills in her two matches against St. Peter’s and St. Francis (N.Y.) on Tuesday, and the freshman put together a .327 hitting percentage.

When Kopacz was named Rookie of the Week on September 2, it marked the first time a Lehigh player received the award since 2003. Kopacz ensured that the wait would not be nearly as long with her performance in week two.

The Mountain Hawks will return to action when they host the Crosstown Tourney on September 13-14. Lehigh will host Quinnipiac on Friday, and Coppin State and Marist on Saturday at Leeman-Turner Arena.
