Lehigh looks back on another successful year

Lehigh held its annual Convocation Program on Monday morning at Grace Hall to look back on the accomplishments of the past year for both team and individual performances. Senior wrestler Brad Dillon was honored as the Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the most prestigious award given by the athletics department. On the mat, Dillon was a team captain, a two-time All-American and a two-time EIWA Champion, while in the classroom, he will graduate with a 3.3 grade point average in biology. Earlier this year Dillon was named the wrestling team’s Scholar-Athlete of the Year and earned NWCA Academic All-American status..

Other award winners included senior men’s basketball player Austen Rowland and senior softball player Shana Treon. Rowland, who was named the Graduating Male Athlete of the Year, was named the Patriot League Player of the Year, as well as the Patriot League Tournament MVP and an Associated Press All-American. Rowland helped lead Lehigh to its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 1988.

Treon was honored as the Graduating Female Athlete of the Year, following a senior season that saw her collect her 200th career hit and lead the Mountain Hawks in hitting, runs, total bases, triples and stolen bases. Treon was a two-time First-Team All Patriot League selection and was part of four regular season Patriot League championship teams and two Patriot League Tournament Championship teams.
