Three Mountain Hawks post top-15 finishes

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Three Mountain Hawks, including Tim Rosenhouse, Steve Suarez and Duncan Zeiders posted top-15 finishes at the 2009 Kelly Gutshall Invitational which wrapped up on Sunday afternoon at Saucon Valley Country Club. Rosenhouse shot a 152 (72, 80) and tied for sixth place, while Suarez finished in 14th with a 154 (75, 79) and Zeiders shot a 155 (79, 76) and tied for 15th place. Drexel placed first in the team standings after the Dragons shot a 609 (300, 309) with Bucknell in second with a 611 (303, 308), Villanova in third (300, 315 = 615), Lehigh in fourth with a 620 (303, 317) and Colgate in fifth (303, 318 = 621).
Other Mountain Hawks that competed include Doug Marcincin who tied for 25th with a 159 (77, 82) and Sean Keller who tied for 29th with a 161 (79, 82). Three other Lehigh players competed as individuals including Dwight Diorio who shot a 164 (79, 85) and Mike Beddow who also shot a 164 (81, 83) and Chris Hornat who finished with a 179 (94, 85).
Kyle Davis of Drexel was the individual champion after shooting a 148 (72, 76) and he was followed by Colgate’s Ben Jessen (73, 76) and Carter Rufe (76, 73) of Lafayette who both shot a 149 and tied for second.
The Mountain Hawks will return to the links in the spring when they travel to Savannah, Georgia for the GEICO Intercollegiate on March 12.
