LORETTO,
Lehigh found itself behind two minutes into the game as Belen Albanes scored on a feed from Allison Severage; but from there the night belonged to the Brown and White, as Lehigh out shot the Red Flash 24-4 for the night and held a 14-4 advantage in penalty corners.
Davies set up the tying goal with a pass to sophomore Kelly Fox, who netted her first goal of the season in the 12th minute.
The Mountain Hawks took the lead for good in the final minute of the first half, as Kara Zweizig found the back of the cage with 24 seconds to play in the half, for her fourth goal of the season.
In the second half, Davies gave Lehigh some insurance with an unassisted goal, her team-leading fifth of the season, and her fifth in the last three games. Lehigh’s defense took care of the rest, as the senior backline of Terry Mongan, Stacy Sommerfield and Lauren Volpe limited the Red Flash to just four shots, including just one in the second half. Because of the defensive effort, freshman Jessica Miller earned the win without recording a save.
Erin Reifsteck kept Saint Francis in the game with 14 stops on the evening.
“The end result was exactly what we needed,” said Lehigh head coach Julie Mazer. “Things were a little frantic in the beginning and they took advantage of an early opportunity. The Mountain Hawks will return to action on Saturday when they travel to
