WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Lehigh finished second in the 2007 ECAC Division I Championships this past weekend at Kiskiask Golf Club as the Mountain Hawks shot a two-round total of 619 (307, 312), which was just 19 strokes off of the pace set by team Champion Harvard (296, 304 = 600).  Sophomore Jen Nagel was Lehigh’s top finisher as she shot a 153 (77, 76) over the weekend, while senior Yvonne Kukora finished tied for ninth place with a 155 (78, 77).  Following Harvard and Lehigh in the team standings were ACC member Boston College, Towson, Dartmouth and LIU.

"Everyone played well as a team throughout the weekend," head coach Roger Simpkins said afterwards.  "It feels pretty good to put the hammer down on an ACC school (Boston College) and this shows the potential of the team."  He added, "The first round (307) that we shot, was the lowest round we've had since I've been here.  Jen Nagel put together two great rounds for us, Kelly Fitzgerald had an outstanding opening round and Livia Amado really bounced back well on Sunday with a 79."

Other Lehigh finishers were Ana Nam who tied for 15th place with a 157 (77, 80), Kelly Fitzgerald who tied for 18th place with a 158 (75, 83), and Livia Amado who tied for 32nd place with a 162 (83, 79).  Harvard claimed the top four spots in the individual standings, led by overall champion Claire Sheldon who shot a 145 (68, 77) to finish six strokes ahead of teammate Sarah Harvey (75, 76 =151).

Lehigh returns to action on October 13 when the Mountain Hawks travel to New Jersey to compete in the Rutgers Invitational in Piscataway.
