Mountain Hawks get first road, league win

“Obviously it was very important to get that first road win,” said head coach Dean Koski. “It was a very physical match. I thought we did a nice job at managing the play of the game. Getting that first goal was critical for us. The level of play dropped a little after Navy scored, but it is all coming together. It was our first league game and it was a great start to league play.”
O’Reilly gave the Mountain Hawks a 1-0 advantage off a penalty kick at the 16:06 mark. However, Navy would come back to even the score 1-1 when Tom Shelly found the back of the net in the 62nd minute. The teams remained scoreless for the last 28 minutes of regulation time, sending the game into overtime.
It would be the second time in the last week that both teams saw overtime periods. The Mountain Hawks’ first overtime game was on Wednesday, September 13 against
O’Reilly was able to put the game away for Lehigh when he had a direct kick in the 102nd minute that went into the net.
Senior Jim Morahan was in goal for the Mountain Hawks, recording four saves. Lehigh outshot Navy 19-16 and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Mountain Hawks return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to George Washington. Game time is set for 3:00 pm.
