Lehigh and Binghamton battle to 0-0 tie

VESTAL, N.Y. – The road did not favor the Mountain Hawks in their first away game of the season. It was a little better for Lehigh’s second road game of the season on Wednesday afternoon, but still eluded the Mountain Hawks of their first win away from the Goodman Campus. In Wednesday’s game, the Mountain Hawks played to a 0-0 tie against the Binghamton Bearcats in rainy conditions at West Gym Field. With the tie, Lehigh’s record now stands at 4-1-1 on the season while
“Anytime you are on the road, it is important to get a result--either a win or a tie,” said head coach Dean Koski. “They brought the pressure on in the first half and had their chances.”
Once again, the Lehigh had a solid defense with senior goalkeeper Jim Morahan and its back four defenders. Morahan recorded three saves in the game, including one in the first overtime period, en route to his fifth shutout of the season.
“We made a couple of defensive changes for this game,” said Koski. “I was pleased with how our defense played. Jim Morahan got his fifth shutout of the season and our back four did a great job.”
The Bearcats outshot the Mountain Hawks 12-8, recording eight of their shots in the first half.
