Lehigh offense explodes in 5-0 win

Stevens scored his first goal of the contest at the
Senior Kyle Hartman tallied his first score of the game in the opening minutes of the second half on a penalty kick and freshman Patrick Starsinic took a Joe Verdi feed 13 minutes later to put the Mountain Hawks in front 4-0. Clemenete then got in on the scoring act when he scored off of a feed from junior Peter Classi and Lehigh had the game in hand.
Bishop stopped two shots on the day, while Sales sent back one. Junior Adam Williamson led Lehigh with four shots, while for the Broncs Dylan Matlack got off two shots. Lehigh outshot Rider 19-6 on the afternoon and had four corner kicks to the Broncs three.
“I think we struggled a little bit in the first half,” explained head coach Dean Koski. “The guys that came off of the bench really stepped up for us though. Jimmy Stevens had two goals and the second team as a unit, responded well for us.”
Stevens, Starsinic and Clemente were all named to the Lafayette Soccer Classic All-Tournament Team, while Lafayette's Victor Krasij was named the MVP.
Lehigh returns to action on Friday evening as the Mountain Hawks take on Jacksonville in the Nike Classic at the Ulrich Sports Complex. Game time is set for
