Lehigh ends Spring Break with split at Eckerd

On the men’s side, the doubles point was the deciding factor as each team won three singles matches. Freshmen Ryan Lloyd, Alfredo Fernandez-Concha, and Brad Nelson all won their singles matches, but Eckerd’s doubles tandems swept the sets 8-4, 8-6, 8-2 to take the fourth and victorious point.
For the women, Lehigh was again dominant, dropping only a single set for the second time this year in shutting out Eckerd. Co-captains Kristen Nowicki and Rachel Sampson led the way, teaming to win their doubles set 8-4 and winning their singles matches 6-1, 6-1, and 6-2, 6-1 respectively. Maria Anorga was the only Mountain Hawk pushed to a third set, but she defeated Tiffany Kalvoda 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
With the win, the women improve to 8-2 on the season, while the men fall to 5-3. Both teams return to action on Tuesday, March 16, with a trip to
