Lehigh opens up 2004 Patriot League slate

Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh opened its 2004-05 Patriot League home schedule on Saturday afternoon at Jacobs Pool versus Navy and Colgate and there were some impressive performances along the way. The Lehigh men defeated Colgate by a score of 189-102 and the women also defeated the Raiders by a score of 172-126. The Mountain Hawk women then fell to Navy by a count of 172-121 and the Midshipmen women then took down Colgate’s women 170.5 to 120.5.

The Lehigh quartet of Thomas Gilbert, William Green, Grant Flothmeier and Jess Dudley took first place in the 200-yard medley with a time of 1:35.50, while the Mountain Hawk women came in first place in the 400-yard freestyle with a time of 3:41.93. Sean Herman and Christopher Haywood won the 200-yard freestyle and 1000-yard freestyle respectively, while on the women’s side Linda Hendrixson came in first place in the 400-yard IM. In the diving competition Laura Gray placed fourth in the one-meter dive and for the men, Patrick Ryan placed second in the same event.

Lehigh returns to action on Saturday, November 13 when the Mountain Hawks host Rider from Jacobs Pool. That meet is slated to get underway at 12:00.
