Bethlehem, PA – Lehigh junior quarterback Mark Borda was named the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight time after his performance in Saturday’s comeback win at Yale.  Borda capped the rally with a go-ahead touchdown run from five yards out with only 2:07 on the clock.

After falling behind 14-0 early, Borda led the Mountain Hawks to four consecutive scoring drives to get Lehigh back in the game. He established new career highs in completions (24) passing yards (291) and rushing yards (45).  The touchdown run was the first of his career.

Last week, Borda led Lehigh to a 28-point victory over Holy Cross with 288 passing yards and five touchdowns.  He finished 18-24 and connected with eight different Lehigh receivers.  Borda completed his first eight passes and led the Mountain Hawks to touchdowns on their first three drives of the game.  The five TD passes were one short of the school record.

On the season, the first-year starter has completed over 60% of his passes (105 completions in 167 attempts).  He has thrown for 1,377 yards and 12 touchdowns, with five interceptions.

Lehigh’s comeback road win impressed the pollsters.  In the latest Sports Network and ESPN/USA Today surveys, Lehigh moved from No. 18 to No. 16 nationally.

Lehigh (5-1 overall, 1-0 Patriot) returns to the gridiron on Saturday, when the Mountain Hawks host Bucknell.  Kick-off is set for just after 1:00 from Goodman Stadium.
