Mountain Hawks wrap up UConn Invitational on home court

Since both the Flight A and B doubles finals were comprised entirely of Lehigh players, tournament officials allowed the Mountain Hawks to take home the hardware and decide the winners on their own turf.
So, on a cool October afternoon it was teammates against teammates for the Mountain Hawks. In the Flight A doubles final junior Randall Smalley teamed with freshman John Nespoli to defeat senior Ty Esler and Alfredo Fernandez-Concha 8-6. With the win Smalley and Nespoli will represent Lehigh at the ITA Division I regional championships.
In the Flight B final, it was sophomores Ryan Lloyd and Brad Nelson staking claim as Lehigh’s number three doubles team, defeating senior Andrew Shapiro and junior Jon Swanson 8-5.
