Lehigh ties Holy Cross in league opener

Worcester, MA – Lehigh (6-1-2) was unable to find the back of the net in its Patriot League opener and after two overtime periods, wound up in a 0-0 tie with Holy Cross (0-5-1) on Saturday afternoon. The Mountain Hawks had numerous scoring opportunities, as they out shot the Crusaders 15-7, including 6-2 in the second half alone, but could not put one in the net.
Steve Fisher led Lehigh with four shots on the afternoon and he received help from Dustin Monahan, Kevin Deger, Wes Roach and Magic Serafin with two shots apiece.
Junior goalkeeper Sam Bishop picked up his seventh shutout of the season as he collected six saves in goal, playing all 110 minutes in the contest. Lehigh had five corners compared to the Crusaders four in the game.
Lehigh returns to action next Saturday when the Mountain Hawks travel to Washington, D.C. to take on American. Game time is set for 1:00.
