Harrisonburg, VA - Lehigh defeated James Madison by a score of 2-0 on Sunday to improve the Mountain Hawks to 5-1-1 on the season, as the Dukes fell to 4-2.
The two teams battled to a scoreless first half, and it wasn't until the 68:49 mark that Lehigh got on the board. Freshman Maciek Serafin scored the first goal off an assist from junior Dustin Monahan to put Lehigh up 1-0. Senior Steve Fisher then sealed the win for the Mountain Hawks when he found the back of the net at the 70:27 mark, off of another assist from Monahan. Serafin and Fisher both scored three goals in the team's two games this week.
Junior goalkeeper Sam Bishop registered six saves in goal for Lehigh en route to his sixth shutout of the season. Serafin and Fisher led the Mountain Hawks with two shots on goal apiece, with Joe Verdi, Adam Williamson and Peter Classi all with one.
Lehigh returns to action on Wednesday when the Mountain Hawks play their first home game since late August, against Drexel. Game time is set for 7:00 and the game can be heard live on Lehigh's website.
