    1994

Many student-athletes play both field hockey and lacrosse, but few play each as well as Karen Yost did during her Lehigh career. Yost was named to the East Coast Conference First-Team all four years she played field hockey. She was also named to the PAIAW Division I Field Hockey All-Star team in 1982 and 1984. In 1983 and 1984 she was a CFHCA Regional All-American and in 1983 a Mitchell & Ness All-American.18921

Her lacrosse accomplishments are equally as impressive. She was named in 1982 to the AIAW All-Championship team. The following year she earned NCAA Division I All-America honors. In her sophomore, junior and senior seasons, Yost was named to the ECC First Team, capped off in 1985 by being named ECC Most Valuable Player. Yost earned Brine Regional All-American status in 1984 and 1985, and in 1985 she was also named a USWLA Division I All-American.

Yost’s athletic career started with her earning the John S. Steckbeck Award as the university's outstanding freshman female athlete. It concluded with her earning the Lehigh University Foundation Award, given to the outstanding senior female athlete. After graduating from Lehigh, Yost was selected as a member of the United States women's lacrosse team in the summer of 1985.

“I realize it's such a great honor to be inducted,” Yost said. “I was very fortunate to play with some great teams and players. Even moreso, I was lucky to have Judith Baxter Turner as a coach.”
