Mike Montross enters his second season as an assistant coach at Lehigh.
Before Lehigh, Montross was a volunteer assistant coach at Georgetown for two years. He helped the Hoyas to an extremely successful 2012 season, in which they were the third overall seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Hoyas’ 19 wins were the most in program history. In his tenure at Georgetown, he coached two All-Americans, seven regional All-Americans as well as the College Cup Most Outstanding Offensive Player.
Before Georgetown, Montross was a four-year letter winner and senior captain at Dickinson College. He led the team to its first two conference and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2007 and 2008.
While at Dickinson, Montross spent a semester overseas in Spain training with UDAF Sant Marti, a Spanish semi-pro club. He is fluent in Spanish, and has also had international experience playing in Brazil and Italy.
“Mike is highly motivated to learn and grow in this profession and is very familiar with Lehigh, having researched and visited our school when he was a high school soccer prospect,” said Head Coach Dean Koski. “We are excited to welcome Mike to the Lehigh men’s soccer family.”
Montross graduated from Dickinson in 2011 with his degree in International Business and Management, as well as a minor in Spanish. He is originally from Bethesda, Maryland.
