Why Lehigh?: “I chose Lehigh because of its tremendous balance between academics and athletics. When searching for the right school my top priority was finding a place that would sharpen my competitive edge. At a place like Lehigh I knew it was possible both on and off the field.”
As a sophomore (2022): Appeared in seven games on the offensive line… started Lehigh’s final two games at right guard and right tackle, respectively.
As a first year (2021): Saw time in final two games on field goal and extra point unit.
In high school: Started all eight games on the offensive line in each of final two seasons… one of two sophomore offensive linemen to play in four games… member of 2019 Erickson League championship team… also played lacrosse and basketball… winner of the “Order of Old Farms,” his school’s highest academic award… recipient of Reed Estabrook Award.
Personal: Son of Brian and Susan Smalley… younger brother Nathan… father played rugby at Hamilton College.
