Why Lehigh? “I chose to attend Lehigh because it held the best of both worlds for me. I could receive a great education for one of the best universities in the country and at the same time be a part of a rich football tradition.”
On Coach Coen: “Coach Coen is a great coach strong motivator that will have you ready to play football on Saturdays. The focus of perfecting the game plan and executing during practice are his main goals, which is why we are so prepared come game time.”
On the Lehigh football experience: “Lehigh is a smaller campus, which brings you closer to most of the students that attend. The bonds that you form with your teammates during these years will be the strongest friendships you will develop.”
Player profile: expected to be a major contributor along the defensive line … as a freshman … appeared in all 11 games making 12 tackles along the way … totaled three tackles, including one-half for loss in win over VMI … registered two or more tackles in four games … in secondary school … First-Team All-League, All-County, All-District and Second-Team All-State … member of National Honor Society … student ambassador … honor roll member all four years.
Personal: son of William and Joetta Winnett … has one sister, Tara … member of Delta Upsilon fraternity.
