    Second season

Jason Miran enters his second season as Lehigh’s wide receivers coach. Miran came to Lehigh in the summer of 2010 after spending the 2009 season as the tight ends and assistant offensive line coach at Franklin and Marshall College.

In 2010, Miran mentored one of the Patriot League’s receiving corps, led by All-League performers Ryan Spadola (first team) and Jake Drwal (second team). Spadola enjoyed one of the finest single-seasons for a Lehigh wide receiver, hauling in 78 passes for 1,130 yards and nine touchdowns for Lehigh’s first 1,000 yard receiving season since 2001. Drwal added 622 yards and three scores on 54 grabs as Lehigh ranked second in the league in passing offense and scoring offense. Lehigh’s wide receiving corps loses just once senior to graduation, giving Miran a wealth of depth and talent to work with.

Among his duties at Franklin and Marshall, Miran was responsible for practice and game planning, scouting, film preparation and recruiting. Franklin and Marshall went 9-2 in 2009 and won the ECAC South Atlantic Bowl. Miran was a member of the South offensive coaching staff for the Division III Senior Classic. Prior to coming to Lehigh, Miran was elevated to wide receivers coach at Franklin and Marshall for the 2010 spring season.

A Pottstown, Pa. native, Miran was a four-year team member and two-year letter winner for Penn as a tight end and fullback. As a freshman in 2005, Miran played under Lehigh head coach Andy Coen, who was the Quakers’ offensive coordinator at the time. Miran saw time at tight end for three seasons before becoming Penn’s starting fullback as a senior. He earned his degree in communications from Penn in 2009.
