Lehigh Ice Hockey gears up for an action-packed two-game series against New York University, carrying strong individual momentum into the weekend clash. Leading the charge for Lehigh is Jesse Heinberg, who tops the team with 23 points (9 goals, 13 assists) in 15 games, closely trailed by Nikolas Cadoret with 16 points and Zach Gruber with 17. Netminder Emerson Popil gets the starting nod between the pipes tonight, looking to anchor the defense against an explosive NYU attack. The Violets enter the weekend boasting heavy firepower of their own, led by Chris O'Flaherty's 21 points (16 goals, 5 assists) in just 8 games and Philippe Aube's 20 points (7 goals, 13 assists).
With game two serving as Alumni Night tomorrow at Steel Ice Center, the Mountain Hawks will have extra motivation to defend home ice in front of former players and a lively home crowd. Lehigh's offense will rely heavily on depth scoring to spark quality chances, while Popil and the blue line aim to stifle NYU's high-scoring top line. Expect a fast-paced, physical series as Lehigh looks to lock down two vital conference victories.
