Emerson Popil is a goaltender from White City, Saskatchewan, who played his high school hockey at Edge School in Calgary, Alberta. Popil served as captain at Edge School, becoming a leader both on and off the ice while competing at the AAA level. During his final season, he posted a .933 save percentage and helped lead his team through a strong campaign. Popil was also the recipient of the 2022 Adam Herold Merit Award, which recognizes young athletes who demonstrate leadership, community involvement, volunteerism, sportsmanship, work ethic, and a commitment to making a positive impact on those around them. Known for his technical, athletic, and competitive style, Popil combines strong hockey intelligence with a calm and composed approach in the crease. Popil is pursuing a degree in Finance at Lehigh. Away from the rink, he enjoys golfing, snowboarding, fishing, and spending time with his family. He is the son of Tara and Dean Popil and has one sister, Madelyn.
