BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Murray H. Goodman '48 head men's basketball coach Brett Reed has announced a promotion and addition to his coaching staff. Brian Kennedy has been elevated to associate coach and Patrick Frost has been hired as an assistant coach.
Frost brings more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience across Division I, II, and III. Most recently, he was an assistant at Jessup University, guiding the program's transition to NCAA Division II and developing the conference's leading rebounder. He previously served as associate head coach at Hawaii Pacific, where he helped the Sharks to an 18-win season and built the PacWest's top-ranked defense, and was an assistant at Point Loma Nazarene, contributing to a PacWest championship and three NCAA Tournament appearances.
"I'm very excited to bring Patrick Frost into our program in the role of an assistant coach," said Reed. "Patrick spent six years working with a former student-athlete and coach at Lehigh, Matt Logie, under his coaching staffs, and brings a great deal of experience that is going to be transferable to the success of our student-athletes and our program. Patrick is knowledgeable in the sport, well-connected as a recruiter, and is someone who will help make our student-athletes and program better."
Frost also held coaching roles at Western Oregon, Whitworth, and the University of San Diego, where he earned his master's degree in leadership studies. His career includes developing numerous all-conference players and multiple All-Americans, highlighted by Kaden Anderson at Point Loma, a First Team All-American and three-time Conference Player of the Year. While at Point Loma and Whitworth, Frost worked alongside former Lehigh student-athlete and coach Matt Logie.
Kennedy joined the Lehigh coaching staff prior to start of the 2024-25 season, bringing decades of collegiate coaching experience with him. Prior to Lehigh, Kennedy served as an assistant at DePaul from 1997-2003 and later worked at NJIT where he was the head coach from 2016-2023. He is also the co-founder and owner of the Hoop Group, which is a series of summer basketball camps that grew into one of the largest grassroots basketball organizations in the country.Â
"I was really pleased with Brian Kennedy's performance this last season," said Reed. "As a coach who has Division-I head coaching experience, he brings a wealth of knowledge and connections that are very valuable to our recruiting efforts and our program. I felt a promotion to an associate coach best represented his impact on our coaching staff and program."
