
Mountain Hawks Climb To Runner-Up Finish At Bucknell Fall Invitational

LEWISBURG, Pa. – A strong final round 300, tied for the fifth lowest single round team score in program history, lifted the Lehigh women's golf team to a second place finish in a 13-team field as the fall-opening Bucknell Invitational concluded Sunday at the Bucknell Golf Club.

Lehigh's 54-hole total of 906 (301-305-300) marks the second-lowest 54 hole team score in program history. The Mountain Hawks finished the 2023 Patriot League Championship at 895.

Senior Madison Pineda and first-year Reese Hannon led the way for Lehigh as both players finished in a tie for eighth place at 13 over par 223. Pineda shot 74 Sunday with one birdie to finish at 75-74-74 while Hannon closed with a 75 after opening with two consecutive 74s. Hannon birdied two of her final five holes on Sunday.

First-year Alana Hall was also in the top 20 as she tied for 18th place at 230 (76-79-75). Hall had a team-high three birdies in Sunday's final round.

All five Mountain Hawks shot in the 70s in Sunday's final round. Sophomore Stefania Fedun carded a 76 with one birdie to finish in a tie for 24th place at 233 (76-81-76).

Junior Yuki Zhu shot her second straight 78 and tied for 29th place at 236 (80-78-78). Zhu made two birdies in Sunday's final round.

Penn cruised to the team title, shooting 874 and posting a 32-stroke victory over the Mountain Hawks. Host Bucknell finished third, five strokes behind the Mountain Hawks.

The Quakers also had five of the top six individual finishers, led by medalist Debby Chang at seven over par 217.

The Mountain Hawks will return to action at the Navy Fall Invitational, Sept. 28-29 in Annapolis, Md.
